UK Credit Cards, issued solely in the United Kingdom and accepted wordwide

UK credit cards are very popular and just like cards offered in the United States, providing full services. For example, you will find many UK credit cards with 0% APR rates, although these are typically just for an introductory period. Additionally, you will enjoy great interest rates, rebates, and many other valuable benefits.

Keep in mind the UK credit cards are simply issued in the UK and most are accepted worldwide. Therefore, if you need a credit card for personal or business use, you will find all types of solutions for all types of needs. To help take the guesswork out of the options currently available, we have provided information on some of the more desirable cards for your consideration:

  • Accucard – This MasterCard was the original UK card, withstanding the test of time. The nice thing about the Accucard card is that you can choose from various options so the card is designed to work best for your specific situation. A few of the features include 0% APR on all balance transfers, long-term interest rates on a 12.9% APR average, and cash back rewards for purchases made.

  • BarclayCard – This Visa is one of the best-known credit cards in the UK. You can enjoy your choice of four card options, which include Classic, Premiership, Platinum, and Student. Best of all, you will get the benefit of Nectar points on all your purchases. Other features include 0% APR on balance transfers until August 2005, and then a standard 14.5% APR.

  • Cahoot – Cahoot is backed by Visa and is a part of the Abbey National Group. This company offers full-line services, which includes credit cards – all backed with 24-hour customer support. Although Cahoot has many outstanding selling points, without doubt, its biggest and best feature is the long-term 9.8% standard APR.

  • Capital One – This credit card has been around for a long time throughout the world and offers both a Classic and Platinum card. To qualify for the Capital One UK card, you must be 21 years of age, have a minimum annual income of £10,000, and be a full-time UK resident. You will receive a 0% APR for the first six months and then 13.21% after that on the Platinum card and a long-term APR of 18.14% on the Premier card.

  • CITI – Of all the UK cards available, this is the most popular. CITI Group was first founded in 1912, continuing to be the largest financial services company in the world. With operations in more than 100 countries and more than 200 million customers, CITI must be doing something right.
